8th International Yoga Day was celebrated and organized by NSS Unit at IKGPTU Amritsar Campus on 21st June 2022 at Sports Ground from 6:00am onwards

8th International Yoga Day was celebrated and organized by NSS Unit IKGPTU Amritsar Campus under the aegis of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University at IKGPTU Amritsar Campus on 21st June 2022 at Sports Ground from 6:00am onwards. The theme for this year Yoga Day Celebration is “Yoga for Humanity & Peace” This Initiative was inaugurated by the Deputy Registrar Sh. Saurabh Sharma. NSS Coordinator - Sh. Tarun Kanodia motivated the students and conveyed their best wishes to all the Volunteers. Students from all classes have joined together and participated in the event. Dr. Mrigender Singh Bedi - Deputy Director (Department of CR&A) was the Chief Guest for the event. The main objective of this initiative is to create awareness of Yoga among youth of the nation. The art of practicing yoga helps in controlling an individual's mind, body and soul. It brings together physical and mental disciplines to achieve a peaceful body and mind.

World Environment Day was organised by NSS Unit of IKGPTU Amritsar Campus on 10th June 2022. NSS Coordinator - Sh. Tarun Kanodia motivated the students and told the student about the importance of Healthy Environment in our surroundings. Youth Officer - Sh. Ajay Kumar told the students about the history of World Environment Day. How it started and its importance. Campus Director - Prof. (Dr.) Amit Sarin conveyed their best wishes to the volunteers. More than 100+ trees were planted by the students and staff at Mini Forest of IKGPTU Amritsar Campus.

Sudoku Championship ‘Brain Puzzles’ was organized on 27th May 2022

Sudoku Championship ‘Brain Puzzles’ was organized under the aegis of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University on 27th May 2022. The championship was inaugurated by the Sports Incharge Dr. Vikramjeet Singh, Youth Officer Sh. Ajay Kumar, and other faculty members. A total of 60 students participated in the event. The championship was conducted in three rounds; 5 participants were shortlisted for the final round. The students were enthusiastically involved in solving the Sudoku puzzles. Aditya Kumar Gupta from B. Tech. CSE Second semester was declared the winner in the final round. The Campus Director Prof. (Dr.) Amit Sarin congratulated the finalists and presented a trophy to the winner.

Gujral Punjab Technical University under the Banner " Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" at IKGPTU Amritsar Campus on 20th May 2022 at 4:00pm onwards. This Initiative was inaugurated by the Campus Director Prof. (Dr.) Amit Sarin. NSS Coordinator - Sh. Tarun Kanodia and Youth Officer Sh. Ajay Kumar motivated the students and conveyed their best wishes to all the Volunteers. The main objective of this initiative is to create awareness for Greenery, Better Environment and Cleanliness of the surroundings among youth of the nation. Students from all branches participated in the event.

A Volleyball Tournament was organized at I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Amritsar Campus on 13th May 2022

A Volleyball Tournament was organized under the aegis of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University on 13th May 2022. The tournament was inaugurated by the Campus Director Prof.(Dr.) Amit Sarin, Sports Incharge Dr. Vikramjeet Singh and Youth Officer Sh. Ajay Kumar, who motivated the students and conveyed their best wishes to all the participant teams. The seven teams which participated in the tournament played enthusiastically and kept their spirits high for the entire day. The final match was played between BCA fourth semester team and B.Tech. CSE fourth semester team where the former defeated the latter. The tournament ended with the prize distribution ceremony where the winning team was presented with a trophy and team members of both the finalist teams were awarded medals by the Campus Director Prof. (Dr.) Amit Sarin, Sports Incharge Dr. Vikramjeet Singh, Youth Officer Sh. Ajay Kumar and other faculty members.

A Nukkad Naatak Name “Wehngi” Theme “Importance of Teachers and Education” was organized by NSS Unit IKGPTU Amritsar Campus on 10th May 2022

In todays’ modern education system, there is general lack of respect to teachers, which is only a part and reflection of erosion of values as a whole in the society. To create awareness and to maintain the Respectful relationship among Teachers and Students, A Nukkad Naatak name “Wehngi” Theme “Importance of Teachers and Education” was organized by NSS Unit IKGPTU Amritsar Campus under the aegis of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University at Auditorium of IKGPTU Amritsar Campus on 10th May 2022 at 4:00pm onwards. The Play was performed by Red Arts Punjab Theatre Group. Artists were Mr. Malkit Mehra, Mr. Dharminder Gill and Harinder Rebel. NSS Coordinator - Sh. Tarun Kanodia inaugurated the event and opened the Stage Curtains for the play. Vote of Thanks was given by the Campus Director Prof. (Dr.) Amit Sarin. The Play was really humorous and gave the message to respect the teachers and to educate the students with modern education and traditional touch. Faculty Members, Officers, Staff and Students of all branches attended the play.

IKGPTU Amritsar Campus organized a Freshers Party on 26th April 2022

"IKGPTU Amritsar Campus organized a Freshers’ Party" A Freshers’ Party ‘Bienvenue 2.0’ was organized under the aegis of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University on 26th April 2022. The event started with the pious lamp lighting ceremony by the faculty members followed by the Campus Director Prof. (Dr.) Amit Sarin’s message conveying his best wishes to the students. The mood of the event was set by energetic cultural performances like Bhangra, Giddha, Skit, Poetry recitation etc. performed by the students of the first and second years. The highlight of the event was Mr. and Miss Fresher contest which was organized for the first year as well as second year students who could not have their freshers’ celebration due to the COVID pandemic. The students participated in it enthusiastically and kept the audience engaged throughout. Moreover, several games like magical dance, push-ups contest, etc. were organized to keep the audience engaged. A luncheon was set for all the students and faculty members. The event ended with the declaration of the titles of Mr. and Miss Fresher; Akash Gupta (B.Tech. CSE) and Malika (BCA) respectively from the first year, and Tanish Sharma (BCA) and Srishti Pandey (B.Tech. CSE) respectively from second year. The title of the Best Performer was given to Ishrat from BCA first year, and that of Best All-rounder to Arshdeep Singh from B.Tech. CSE second year. The prizes were given to the students by the event co-ordinator Dr. Vikramjeet Singh and other faculty members.

NSS wing of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Amritsar Campus (IKGPTU Amritsar Campus) in association with Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas (SSUN), New Delhi observed World Wetlands Day 2022. The theme for this year’s World wetlands Day is “Wetlands Action for People & Nature” highlighting the importance of the actions required to conserve and sustainable use of wetlands for humans and planetary health. This year’s celebration of World Wetlands Day is especially significant — as on 30 August 2021 the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution that established 2 February as World Wetlands Day — inviting all 193 UN member states to observe the day, opening the door for greater global visibility for wetlands. The NSS wing of IKGPTU Amritsar Campus organised a webinar to generate the awareness about importance as well as functions & values of wetlands. About 358 participants including students, teachers, researchers and members of civil society representing 13 teaching & research institutions along with Ngo’s participated in the webinar organized on 2nd February, 2022. Sh. Tarun Kanodia, Coordinator - NSS Unit, IKGPTU Amritsar Campus hosted the complete event and gave vote of thanks to the Expert and the staff and students of IKGPTU Kapurthala and IKGPTU Amritsar Campus for supporting the event.

I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Amritsar Campus organized Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp session in collaboration with IKGPTU and TiE on 1st December 2021

With an objective to motivate students to participate in TAP Business Plan (2021-22) Competition, I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Amritsar Campus organized Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp session in collaboration with IKGPTU and TiE. Mr. Vishal Sharma, Deputy General Manager, Benett & Coleman Company Limited (The Times Group) interacted with the students and make them realize the importance of entrepreneurship development in the present scenario. Ms. Anjum Singh, Executive Director, TiE Chandigarh gave the insights of TAP B Plan 2021-22 and motivated the students for maximum participation this year and Mr. Neeraj Kapoor accompanied her. Dr. Amit Sarin, Director (IKGPTU Amritsar Campus) and Dr. Mrigender Singh Bedi, Assistant Director (CR&A), IKGPTU welcomed the guests with inaugural welcome. Mr. Tarun Kanodia, (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell Coordinator), IKGPTU Amritsar Campus gave the vote of thanks to all the guests, faculty, staff members, Student Coordinators and all the participating students. Rajdeep Singh, AP(Coordinator - Department of CA), Dr. Prabhkiran Kaur, AP (Deptt. of ME), Mr. Saurabh Sharma (Deputy Registrar), Mr. Ajay Kumar (Youth Officer) graced the occasion with their presence. The session was very informative and very inspiring. IKGPTU Amritsar Campus always try to motivate students for becoming Job Creator instead of Job Seeker and participate in building a Self Sustained World.

IKGPTU established ??Mini Forest ??at its Amritsar Campus in 10,000 Sq feet area. Also Vertical Garden is prepared in this Campus by using the waste paste bottles.

Both Mini Forest & Vertical Garden were inaugurated by Dr. Ajay K Sharma, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor IKG PTU. Mr. Rohit Mehra, IRS, Additional Commissioner Income Tax Amritsar & Director IIM Amritsar, also graced the occasion with their presence. Hon’ble VC declared that University will establish Mini Forests & Vertical Gardens in all its campuses & affiliated colleges to make them more environment friendly.

A quiz contest for younger students of IKGPTU Amritsar Campus was organized online on 01-July-2021. The basic idea was to encourage the students to be aware of the day to day happenings around them and make them ready for future competitive exams where a lot of general knowledge questions are asked. Many students participated and three winners were announced and were provided with e certificates. Students were very happy and requested to organize more and more quiz contests.

Dr. Chander Parkash (NSS Coordinator - IKGPTU) provided information about the scenario of Drug Abuse and illicit Trafficking in Punjab and India and the methods to prevent or reduce it. Sh.
